“Journey to Heart Space” is the first in a series of books that moves deeply into the heart of being human. Its clear that our planet is in chaos – chaos inside ourselves, within our families, with our animal partners, work, community and on and on and on… As I took my living journey before writing the book, I began to unearth my own limiting thoughts, patterns and paradigms. I began to realize that what I believed about what was happening all around me, tainted its Truth. I had to really stop and “see” before I could let go of a way of being that no longer served me other than to hold me captive in a way of living that just simply wasn’t working.
- Relationship Revolution is about owning your own Truth and being able to do that without shame, blame or judgment
- Relationship Revolution is understanding that Truth is perception – if the perception is faulty, the experience follows suit.
- Relationship Revolution is believing that we each view the world through our own filter.. and that filter paints a picture – we create experiences that support our filter. When we change the filter, we change the relationship.
- Relationships are mirrors to who we are and what work we need to be doing on ourselves.
- Relationships exist in every aspect of being human. Our relationship with ourself colors every other relationship we have.
- How we interact with ourself is a microcosm of how we interact with our world.
- Relationship is every interaction we have, whether it be for a second, an hour or forever. Whether it be with another human being, another species, a part of nature, a part of our planet. If it lives and breathes… we stand in relationship to it.
- Relationship says that every interaction we have, we have something to learn. We are responsible for that learning.
I hope you’ll choose to stay with us. There is much to think about, talk about, write about… become curious about. Healthy curiousity leads to change. In me, horses evoke every single human emotion, some more often and intense than others – like fear for example, and through fear I would find pure joy and the path to oneness that can be found in true partnership with another soul. Horses and humans have been in relationship since the beginning of time. The dynamics of the relationship have shifted and changed, and ranged the gament from trusted partner of native tribes to war horse and beast of burden before the Industrial Revolution. Today, the equine industry is a billion dollar plus a year powerhouse. The necessity of horses for war, travel, farm work and heavy equipment shifted to object of wager on the racetrack, rodeo and sport competition.
Horses are evolving right alongside of humans. Horses are “waking up” and through the mirror they are holding for humans have chosen to step into their own sentience. The word sentient means conscious, to be awake. Horses are in a unique position – because of human expansion, their native ability to live wild and free is long but a distant memory, with the exception of small herds of wild mustang and other indigenous herds throughout the world. And that has been controlled and dominated by humans since the herds were discovered. Horses’ well-being is almost exclusively the responsibility of its human partner.
So we have an opportunity. Horses have stepped up to embrace a new role with humans – that of teacher, healer and guide. And it’s happening in every state and every country in the world. Anyone who doubts the power of the intuitive, emotional and spiritual connection possible between horses and humans hasn’t had the honor of racing bareback and bridle-less across the open expanse of lush green pasture. In those moments, horse and rider become one, words become un-necessary and all communication happens effortlessly. Its trust, partnership, honor and respect. Racing across the pasture aside, the same powerfully connected, fully in-tune connection can happen at any moment if we are open and ready to receive. Our horse partners are ready -- Are we?

In Sentient Musings.. Lessons from the Herd we’re focusing on the relationship that is possible with other species. Many species have much to teach us about being human. About how to live in harmonious family units, partner with our children, our mates and most importantly how to live in peaceful community with ourselves and the world around us. If we’re ready to learn, they can teach us about boundaries, trust, instinct, intuition and how to work through fear.
There are some incredible people who are on the front-lines of teaching humans what is possible in their relationship with other species – in this case, our horse partners. I am honored and grateful for their powerful voices for change.

Sandra Wallin has been learning from horses, in one way or another, her entire life, but it wasn’t until her horses Grace and Chiron arrived that her apprenticeshiptruly began. Sandra claims Grace has taught her to be a better person and
